CBH signs National database contract with Warwick International

Constructing Better Health (CBH) has awarded its contract for the UK’s first National Occupational Health database to Warwick International Computing Systems.

Launched in early 2009, the National database will be available to all CBH accredited Occupational Health Providers, forming the basis for Site Management and Contractors to obtain ‘fitness for task’ outcomes for the Construction Workforce. Occupational Health Service Providers (OHSPs) will be able to upload and access information from the Health Surveillance checks.

The key benefit of the database will be the ability of OHSPs to accurately monitor individuals’ health over the long term, which is crucial to CBH’s aims of enabling employers to manage Occupational Health Risks at Site level.

Michelle Aldous, Chief Executive Officer at CBH, said: “The database is one of the core elements of CBH which will enable us to achieve our long-term aim of improving the work-related health of the construction industry workforce.”

Warwick International Computing Systems is one of the market leaders in the provision of Occupational Health and Safety Management Software and whose products include the widely used OPAS and e-OPAS database. Simon Wheeler, Director, said: “We are delighted to have been selected for this prestigious contract with CBH. The National database will be a very powerful tool for Occupational Health Providers and we hope that it will encourage more and more organisations to sign up to the principles and benefits of CBH.”
